A real challenge, and how we solved it
BackgroundAn industrial control manufacturer was preparing a pilot run with a BOM of 80+ part numbers across six categories, sourced from six different suppliers — each requiring separate quoting and separate lead-time waits.
The challengePilot volumes were small and several suppliers would not take them. Three controller and interface ICs had factory lead times beyond 30 weeks, incompatible with the pilot schedule.
Our solutionWe quoted the whole BOM as one order and shipped the 77 in-stock line items first to start the pilot on time. For the three long-lead parts we presented two paths: spot-market sourcing and pin-to-pin alternatives, with free samples for validation.
The resultThe pilot started on schedule, and the validated alternative entered the volume selection list. Replace this sentence with your own verified figures, or delete it.
Frequently asked questions
Can you kit very small pilot volumes — tens of pieces?
Yes. There is no order-level minimum. Prototype quantities go through the same quoting flow, and where volumes fall below factory packaging we break packs and label the batch and break information.
What if I only have scattered part numbers, not a BOM spreadsheet?
Just list the part numbers, quantities and target dates — email or web form both work. Incomplete lists are fine; we will confirm the missing parameters with you one by one.
Can I specify brands and channels?
Yes. You can request specific brands and original channels. We also provide alternative quotes from advantageous channels and global distribution so you can weigh price against lead time.
How do you handle shortage items?
Shortage items are listed separately in the quote with a ready date. The complete subset can ship first while the rest follows, without holding up the whole delivery.
Do quotes include substitution proposals?
Yes. For EOL, over-budget or long-lead parts we proactively attach alternatives with key parameter comparisons, plus free samples for validation where needed.
