AMD shares rose 9.6% to $613.31 on Monday, breaking the $1 trillion mark and becoming the fourth U.S. chip company to break the trillion-dollar mark after Nvidia, Broadcom and Micron. With a market capitalization of more than $5 trillion in 2023, Nvidia is the most valuable company in the world. AMD is considered Nvidia’s most formidable competitor in the GPU chip space. AMD shares are up 185% in 2026, well ahead of the 15.8% gain in the Nasdaq, a conglomerate of tech stocks, and one of the best-performing stocks in the S&P 500.
