On October 21, Infineon announced a deepening of its collaboration with Nvidia to advance the 800 Volt DC (800 VDC) power supply architecture for AI data centers, with a focus on the development of high-voltage intermediate bus converters (IBCs). Infineon will use gallium nitride (GaN) power semiconductor technology to improve power conversion efficiency and power density, reducing energy loss and cooling requirements. This cooperation extends the 800-volt DC power supply architecture project launched by the two sides since 2025, covering intermediate bus conversion and power supply path protection, and aims to support AI data centers with higher power density and improve server rack plug-in and maintenance capabilities.
