A prototype satellite equipped with Google’s Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) chip has been launched to test the chip’s performance in the space environment and investigate whether it can deploy artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure in space in the future. Google said its team had established communication with the satellite, which is now operating normally. Google said the launch was part of a long-term study to explore whether scalable machine learning infrastructure could be deployed in space in the future. (Xinhua News Agency)
