Musk said Colossus 2, an AI computing cluster built by his company, xAI, could more than double the number of Nvidia chips by the end of the year. The billionaire, who has provided the most detailed timeline to date for the expansion of the cluster in the Memphis area, is racing to expand the scale of AI computing power. Musk posted on the X platform that the Colossus 2 currently has 110,000 Nvidia GB200 chips and 440,000 GB300 chips. He said that another 220,000 GB300 chips will be put into operation next week, and another 220,000 chips are expected to come online in November.
